LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

The lymphatic system is a part of the circulatory system. It originates in the body just below the skin and returns fluid to the heart. It is a second pathway back to the heart, parallel to the venous system. Lymph is the body’s system that cleans or filters waste, broken blood cells, germs, viruses, and excess substances out of the body. It consists of tiny vessels and lymph nodes, which are the purification centers of the body. Lymph nodes break down and destroy particles so they can be flushed out of the body. The largest nodes are in the neck, groin, and armpits. They all work together to make sure "clean" lymph is transported back to the veins that carry the lymph and the blood toward the heart.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle massage technique that stimulates the lymphatic flow and helps transport the lymph from swollen or congested areas to non-swollen or congested areas.

Lymphatic Drainage at Black Rock Therapies

What are some benefits of Lymphatic Drainage?

Lymphatic drainage provides numerous health benefits, making it a valuable therapy for a wide range of conditions. It helps alleviate the pain and discomfort associated with rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and sports-related injuries such as sprains and strains. This therapy is also beneficial for nerve-related issues like sciatica and piriformis syndrome, promoting improved mobility and reduced pain.

For individuals recovering from colds, flu, or chronic congestion, lymphatic drainage supports faster recovery by clearing excess fluid and easing respiratory discomfort. It is highly effective for managing allergies, chronic coughs, and inflammatory conditions like eczema. For those recovering from surgery, including cancer-related procedures, or experiencing swelling during pregnancy, it helps reduce swelling and promotes faster healing. Additionally, it supports stress reduction, boosts immune function, and aids in addressing tissue damage, offering a comprehensive solution for overall wellness and recovery.
