Laser-Light Therapy

Black Rock Therapies (BRT) is proud to announce the launch of its new Laser-Light Therapy treatments!

What is it?
Black Rock Therapies has recently purchased a state of the art BioFlex Laser-Light machine. Low Level Laser-Light Therapy (LLLT) treatment or Photobiomodulation, is curative in nature and involves inundating traumatized tissues with photons that allows the restoration of normal cell structure and function. The treatment accelerates healing and has been found to reduce chronic pain and inflammation.

What does it help with?
LLLT treatment is designed to enhance natural healing and is perfect for soft tissue injuries. These include ligament/tendon/muscle tears, repetitive stress injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetic sores caused by poor circulation as well as cuts, bruises, abrasions and even shingles, gout and tendonitis amongst many other injuries and conditions.

How long does a treatment take?
Treatments are typically 30 minutes to an hour long in duration depending on the condition being treated. Some injuries require more frequent treatment than others.

How many treatments are required?
As with all treatments at Black Rock Therapies we take each case on individual need and we do not pre-sell packages for estimated treatment amounts. However a typical set of treatments would be be around 5 lots of 30 minute treatments.

Are there any side effects?
No. Laser therapy is non-toxic, non-invasive and is not at all painful, you may feel a small warming sensation but that is all.

Who delivers it?
Laser therapy is often used alongside any of our treatments here at Black Rock Therapies. These treatments however can only be delivered by qualified laser therapy technicians.

What should I wear?
This is a clothes on treatment however the Laser-Light device must be in contact with the skin.

How do I know whether this treatment is what I need and what are the next steps?
If you have already had LLLT treatment before and understand the benefits and how it applies to the injury or symptoms you have, then simply call us and book in for a 30 or 60 minute appointment. If you are not sure then book a preliminary 30 minute LLLT appointment with one of our Manual Osteopathic Practitioners and they will assess your needs and advise on the best course of action!
